Gold vermeil (pronounced "ver-may") is a thick layer of gold plated over sterling silver (925). To qualify as vermeil, the gold layer must be at least 10 karats and 2.5 microns thick. Because the base is sterling silver, it's considered a step above standard gold plating.

Which Is Better for Indian Skin and Climate?
