There is a category of jewellery that sits between fashion and fine. Not the ₹200 earrings that leave green marks on your skin. Not the ₹2,00,000 gold piece you only wear on your wedding day. Something in between — jewellery made to be worn every day, with real materials, that actually lasts.
The industry calls it demi-fine jewellery.
At Carryallco, we call it 18K Gold PVD.
Same idea. A very different execution.
What most people mean by demi-fine
Demi-fine jewellery traditionally means pieces made with real metals — sterling silver, gold vermeil, gold fill — but without the price of solid gold. It is meant to be an affordable step up from costume jewellery.
The problem? Gold vermeil and gold fill still tarnish. Sterling silver still oxidises. They are better than fast fashion jewellery, yes. But they still require care. You still take them off before the shower. You still find them looking dull after a few months.
For everyday wear in India — where the climate is humid, where women are active, where jewellery goes from office to gym to evening without a second thought — demi-fine as traditionally defined still falls short.
What we do differently
Every piece in Carryallco's gold collection is built on 316L surgical-grade stainless steel and finished with 18K PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) gold.
PVD is not plating in the way most people think of plating. It is a vacuum-bonding process where gold molecules are fused directly onto the metal surface at an atomic level. The result is a layer that is harder, thicker, and far more resistant to wear than standard electroplating.
In practical terms, this means:
- You can wear it in the shower.
- You can sweat in it at the gym.
- You can sleep in it, swim in it, and forget to take it off — and it will still look exactly the same six months later.
- No tarnish. No fading. No green marks. No allergic reactions.
This is what we mean when we say 18K Gold PVD. It is the answer to everything that was almost-right about demi-fine jewellery.
Why we do not use the term demi-fine
Honestly? Because it is not precise enough for what we make.
Demi-fine is a category. 18K Gold PVD is a specification. When you know your product is built differently, you name it differently. We would rather educate our customers about what is actually in their jewellery than borrow a term that belongs to a wide and inconsistent category.
When you buy from Carryallco, you know exactly what you are getting: 316L stainless steel, 18K PVD gold finish, built to be waterproof and tarnish-free for years of daily wear.
Who it is for
Our jewellery is for women who do not want to think about their jewellery. Who put it on in the morning and forget about it. Who want gold that moves with them — to work, to the gym, to dinner, through the rain, through the day.
It is not a compromise piece. It is not costume jewellery dressed up in fancy language. It is a deliberate choice: the most durable, most wearable, most honest everyday gold available at this price point.
That is what we call 18K Gold PVD.
That is Carryallco.
