925 sterling silver is a real precious metal — it deserves proper care. Unlike plated jewellery, real silver can be polished back to its original shine even after tarnishing, making it a piece you can keep for years.
Daily habits:
— Store in the anti-tarnish pouch provided — air exposure is the primary cause of tarnishing
— Keep away from water, perfume, lotion, hairspray, and household chemicals
— Remove before swimming, bathing, or exercising
— Put jewellery on last — after all beauty products
— Remove before sleeping to avoid bending or tangling
Cleaning:
— Wipe with a soft dry silver polishing cloth after every wear
— Never use tissue, paper towel, or abrasive cloth — these cause micro-scratches
— For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and warm water with a soft brush, rinse thoroughly, and dry immediately and completely
— Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical silver dips
About tarnishing:
Real silver tarnishes when it reacts with air, moisture, and sulphur compounds in the environment. This is completely normal and is actually proof that your piece is genuine silver. A gentle polish with a silver cloth restores the original shine in minutes. Tarnishing is not a defect and is not covered under warranty.

What is 925 Sterling Silver?
Sterling silver marked 925 means the metal contains 92.5% pure silver — the remaining 7.5% is typically copper, added for strength and durability. This is the internationally recognised hallmark standard for real silver jewellery, the same used in fine jewellery worldwide.
Why 925 and not pure silver?
Pure silver (999) is too soft for everyday jewellery — it bends, scratches, and loses its shape easily. The 7.5% copper alloy makes it strong enough to hold stones, maintain structure, and withstand daily wear while keeping the look and feel of precious metal.
How is it different from silver-plated jewellery?
Silver-plated jewellery has a very thin layer of silver over a cheap base metal (usually brass or zinc). When the plating wears off, the base metal shows through and can cause skin reactions. 925 sterling silver is solid precious metal throughout — it does not "peel" or expose a different metal underneath.
Will it tarnish?
Yes — and that's a good sign. Tarnishing is what real silver does when it reacts with air. Fashion silver and silver-plated pieces do the same, but they cannot be restored.
